Which pattern do you like the best for men's pants? Men's coat? I used the simplicity men's pattern for pants and did not like the fact that they too "soft" at the waist band. Is that period correct?
There is a coat pattern that I would love to use; it just looks so "periodish".
When I made the Simplicity Mens pants I used a light canvas in the waistband to make it firm.
Randy's linen coat was made with Period Impressions "Enlisted Man's" Frock Coat, the same one I used for Erich. You have to figure out the back skirt linning, believe me it's a doosey! I just cut all the pieces twice, once with the "fashion" fabric and again with the lining. The back.... oh well, I'll bring Randy's coat to Mary's and you can look at it.
