I have found that the cotton yarn works really well and gives me the small piping I need for my sewing. What do you use?

Well, I had to go look online to find the name. I use "Sugar n' Cream" crochet thread which is 100% cotton. It looks like I used up my first spool of it already. But I did make a corded petticoat too.

I'll have to check at Micheal's to find the name and size of the one I use.

Wow....guess what, I use the same 100% cotton "Cream n Sugar". I like it because I can use the black with the guys dark suits.

Gees, thats funny! So we are both using the same thread for piping. I choose that thread because it was recommended by several online websites that are designed for the reenactor. Many of the women on that forum have extend clothing collections from the period and one works at a university that gives her access to such goodies.
These ladies and gentlemen who post are very much concerned with authenticity issues and try to educate those who will listen to the real norms, and steer away from the sutlers.

Thanks Paintnlady,
The site will help. I put in a new topic to cover the Sutler clothing.

| I had never thought about using yarn for piping. That is definately a good idea and all I have to do is raid my mom's yarn stash.
