My favorite small cake, (cookie) is Almond Macaroons from a recipe I found in a copy of the Williamsburg Cookbook my husband gave me. After I found, on a prime source document, that the Hudson Bay Company was shipping macaroons to the forts in 1807 I just had to make them. It took awhile, and many attempts before I got the cakes the way we like them. What is your favorite?;)

I so much love chocolate cake and they were very popular back in the 1860's. A bit different than modern, though.

Let me see, oh yeah.. apple pie or apple fritters or apple turnovers or baked apples.

Peach cobbler

the list goes on..

I'm hungry now.

Yum!

I like" Slump". Dumplings made in a fruit sauce. Real ugly, but so good! ;)
